Introduction

By accessing the tuition services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. If you disagree with any part of these terms and conditions, you must not use the service.

About Erin Johns Educational Services (t/a Neurodiversity Tutor)

Erin Johns is a sole trader and founder of Erin Johns Educational Services. She is a qualified teacher in England and holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Fees and Payment for Tuition

The fees will be calculated at a rate agreed in advance between the Tutor and the Client on a per session basis, and based upon the agreed arrangements. Payment must be made before the first lesson starts within the stated timeframe.

After the first lesson, Erin Johns Educational Services will invoice in advanced monthly through TutorBird. All payments must be made up front before any lessons.

Repeated late payments may result in the termination of services.

All fees are subject to a reasonable increase, which will be notified in writing before the next payment.

Client Obligations

  • Provide a quiet place for the Learner to work, free from interruptions and with access to suitable equipment and internet connection.

  • Ensure Zoom is up to date and that there is a clear display name to identify the Learner.

  • Make sure Zoom link or meeting code is known and made available prior to lesson time.

  • Do not share the link with anyone unless they are supporting the Learner.

  • Do not share recordings with anyone outside the lesson.

  • Support the Learner to login on time and remember the lesson.

Learner Expectations

  • Login on time for lesson, as time will not be extended in cases of late arrival.

  • Be dressed in appropriate clothing (no dressing gowns, offensive slogans or images).

  • Be prepared with necessary equipment (paper & writing utensil and/or whiteboard & pen).

  • Be respectful to the Tutor and other learners.

  • Keep distractions to a minimum by muting/removing mobile phones and extra tabs and windows online.

  • Inform Tutor if a break is needed or if stepping away from device.

Tutor Obligations

  • Login on time for lesson; where this is not possible (such as the case of emergency, illness, traffic, etc.), Client will be notified as soon as possible by text message and/or email, and the lesson will be extended or a partial discount on the next invoice.

  • If unable to identify a Learner in the wait room, contact will be made via the chat function or the possible Client will be notified via email or text message.

  • In the case of late arrivals to 1:1 lessons, the Tutor will send a reminder to the Client via text message and/or email after 10 minutes. This is not possible for group lessons.

Home Education

If the Client is electively home educating, then the Client is responsible for the education of the child. Erin Johns Educational Services cannot be held liable for the education provision of any child. Services are provided to support this education, but it is ultimately up to the Client to ensure educational needs are met.

Cancellation Policy

After the first session, all lessons are paid up front on a monthly basis. As a small business, there will be no refunds given in the case of illness as the pupil’s place will be reserved.

In the case of holidays during term time, 1:1 Clients should give Erin Johns Educational Services at least one week's notice. If payment has already been made and the agreed notice was given, credit toward the next month’s tuition sessions will be given. Repeated cancelled lessons may result in ceasing tuition.

There will be no refunds given for any missed sessions of a group regardless of reason as the group will still run in the case of absence, planned or otherwise. Any agreed homework will still be sent and recordings will be made available.

If the Tutor needs to cancel a lesson, as much notice as possible will be given. Efforts will be made to reschedule rather than cancel, but this cannot always be accommodated. In this case, the Client will receive credit toward the next month’s tuition sessions if payment had already been made.

If the Client wishes to end tuition early after paying in advanced for the month, no refund will be given. The Client is welcome to finish out the month’s lessons before stopping services.

Privacy

The Client must not record or take any photos during the sessions without permission. The Tutor may record sessions or take screenshots. During lessons, parents and carers are encouraged to be in the vicinity. If the Tutor has any safeguarding concerns, any relevant agencies will be notified. A further safeguarding policy and privacy policy is available.

Approval

Acceptance of the services will be taken to represent agreement to these Terms and Conditions.
