Founder and Lead Tutor

I was born and raised in Arizona, USA. I absolutely love the desert and will talk about it at any opportunity! I moved to England in 2014 and now live in beautiful Hampshire with my blended family and a number of pets.

I'm a qualified teacher and award-winning specialist tutor. I founded Neurodiversity Tutor in 2020 after leaving classroom teaching, recognising a need for learning from home that didn't simply recreate school. I soon realised that many of the young people drawn to my approach were neurodivergent, and that my way of teaching naturally suited them. It was only later that I discovered I was autistic myself!

My approach is built on relationships, flexibility and meeting young people where they are. I recognise different ways of thinking and learning, understand that everyone has off days, and believe that 'why?' is always a valid question. I adapt my teaching to the learner, rather than expecting them to fit into a mould.

I'm now growing Neurodiversity Tutor by welcoming other specialist tutors who share this approach, while continuing to teach myself. I still love those 'light bulb moments' when something suddenly clicks, but I also know that progress can mean finding confidence, feeling understood and enjoying learning again.
